Farncombe Estate is delighted to announce that the Dormy House Hotel & Spa has won Country House Hotel of the Year and overall Hotel of the Year in the Small Luxury Hotels of the World (SLH) Annual Awards for 2017. Small Luxury Hotels of The World boasts a prestigious membership of 520 independent luxury hotels, in more than 80 countries worldwide.
The winners were announced at a ceremony as part of the SLH Annual Conference at Pelican Hill resort in Southern California on the 13th October 2017. Alongside The best Country House Hotel award the other main awards were Best City Hotel, which went to The Refinery Hotel in New York and The Best Resort Hotel, which went to Baros Island in the Maldives.
Dormy House is a privately-owned hotel and spa near Broadway. A multi-million pound renovation in 2013 transformed the traditional 17th century Cotswold farmhouse and today it is one of the finest boutique hotels in the Cotswolds. London-based interior design team Todhunter Earle Interiors kept the spirit of the building’s past and added a contemporary twist to create farmhouse chic interiors and a relaxed country glamour feel. Dormy House offers oodles of character, great food, impeccable service and it is home to the award-winning House Spa, designed by Sparcstudio.
The hotel is part of a 400-acre private estate; which is also home to Foxhill Manor, an eight-bedroom private house hotel and The Fish, a back-to-nature retreat.
Dormy House’s sister Hotel Foxhill Manor also had reason to celebrate, Front of House team member, Hannah Roberts was a shortlist finalist for the SLH Hotel Hero Award.
Andrew Grahame, CEO of Farncombe Estate said,
“This is wonderful recognition for Dormy House. We are absolutely thrilled to win such a prestigious international award. We hope that by winning Hotel of the Year we are in some small way promoting the Cotswolds on the international stage as a special place to stay and visit. An enormous well done has to go to our outstanding Dormy House team; their dedication and passion to provide the best possible levels of service and experiences for our guests is second to none. 2017 has been a great year for Dormy House and for the wider Farncombe Estate and we are even more excited about all we have in store for 2018.”
