Culinary Legends

We have opportunities for chefs of all levels to join the innovative and ambitious kitchen teams in our three independent hotels:

Dormy House provides exceptional food in two restaurants: the gastropub-style Potting Shed and fine dining venue the Garden Room, which has been awarded two Rosettes and is aiming for a third. The Potting Shed offers lunch and dinner; The Garden Room serves breakfast and a choice of two menus for dinner: a three-course à la carte and a seven-course tasting menu.

Foxhill Manor is an eight-bedroom private house hotel offering the highest standards of dining,  built on a ‘what you want, when you want it’ philosophy.

The Fish Hotel is home to Hook and at is at long last able to live up to its name, offering a menu of the finest, freshest responsibly sourced fish, sustainable shellfish and a few timeless classics from the land. 

Serenity Co-ordinators

Since the House Spa at the Dormy House Hotel opened its doors it has been winning awards ever since! This is an incredibly successful and popular Spa, and we are looking for an exceptional therapist to join our existing team.

You will be qualified to a minimum of NVQ 3 in Beauty Therapy or equivalent, and will ideally have experience of carrying out a range of treatments to an extremely high standard.
You will excel at providing the best experience possible to your customers, and be able to demonstrate a passion for keeping your knowledge and techniques up to date.

The Dormy House Hotel is part of Farncombe Estate which is situated in an idyllic hillside location and also includes the award winning Foxhill Manor and The Fish. We can provide amazing opportunities for ambitious individuals who want to develop their career within the hospitality industry.

Directors of first impressions

The role of the Reception Host at Farncombe Estate is to welcome our guests as soon as they arrive and to ensure their stay at our hotel is above their expectations. Your warm and friendly interaction with our guests will ensure that you are able to anticipate their needs, and give them the very best individual attention. This role operates at the heart of a busy operation, in which you’ll handle lots of different requests from both colleagues and guests, providing you with the opportunity to learn a lot.

 

Ideally you will have proven experience in a similar role, which you are ready to build upon in our award winning hotel. You’ll be confident using IT systems to complete administrative tasks accurately and efficiently. Knowledge of OPERA would be an advantage.

Wizards of light bulb moments and sales ninjas

Although they’re a small team, they deliver a big punch. You need to be a good influencer with the skills and charisma to build relationships fast. At Farncombe Estate, we do all our marketing in-house and are heavily focused on our brand through social media and our network of key agents. Our team have excellent administrative and IT skills, superb organisational ability and a high level of confidence in dealing with senior decision makers in a fast-paced and demanding environment. Communication skills are critical – a role in this team invariably means spending a lot of time on the phone, so applicants need to have the charm and confidence to establish guests’ requirements and expectations quickly – and leave them feeling valued and listened to.

We are currently recruiting Housekeeping Attendants to join our busy team at Dormy House Hotel. As Housekeeping Attendant you will be responsible to carry out a variety of cleaning duties, servicing of rooms and public areas throughout the hotel to the highest possible standards in a methodical, safe, hygienic and discreet manner and in keeping with the service and standards offered by the hotel.

Groundbreakers

With three hotels and 400 acres to look after, the Farncombe Estates and Maintenance team are never short of something to do. They are responsible for he smooth daily running of all aspects of Foxhill Manor, the Fish Hotel, Dormy House and House Spa, ensuring we deliver a consistent five-star experience for our guests. This includes ongoing maintenance programmes for the hotel across the entire spectrum of assets: refrigeration, air conditioning, heating, plumbing, water treatment, lighting, power, kitchen equipment, spa equipment and facilities, generators, switch rooms, lifts and more. The team delivers a consistently safe, secure and stable environment and ensures that the Estate and buildings are well presented and maintained at all times.

Good hospitality businesses hinge upon the ability to understand the figures maintain a commercial focused and react quickly when needed. The Farncombe finance team are responsible for every aspect of accounting and finance – from ensuring our suppliers are paid to working hand in hand with the operations team to help support their P&Ls. They are the engine the drives the Farncombe brand forward.
