Kick-start your day with a brekkie belter courtesy of Dormy duo, Ellie and Taylor, their peanut butter and banana protein shake, teamed with perfectly poached eggs and avo on rye, is packed with protein and superfoods that will help fuel you for the day ahead.


Shake it…

For your smoothie you will need:

  • 300ml almond milk
  • 1 banana
  • 2tbsp peanut butter
  • 30g protein powder

For your poached egg and avo on rye you will need:

  • 2 avocados
  • 1 lime
  • 2 eggs
  • Rye bread
  • 3 tbsp white vinegar

Smooth(ie) operator…

  • To make your smoothie, simply blend all the above ingredients together for 1 minute and serve in a glass.

Ready, egg, cook…

  • Firstly, pop your rye bread into the toaster.
  • Then put a medium pan of water onto a high heat with your white vinegar in and bring to the boil.
  • Once the water has boiled, lower the heat to a simmer.
  • Peel and remove the stone from your avocados then place in a bowl with your salt, pepper and lime juice.
  • Then mash into a pulp and spread across your rye bread once it’s toasted.
  • Next using a whisk, swirl the water and drop your eggs into the centre and simmer for 2 ½ minutes.
  • Once cooked, take your eggs out of the water and place on top of your avocados.
  • Voila! A quick, simple and healthy breakfast that will keep you fuelled until lunch. Enjoy!
