Maggini Quartet recital in Broadway

One of the most outstanding British chamber ensembles, the Maggini Quartet, will be performing in Broadway on Friday 23 May. The Quartet's award-winning contribution to Naxos's British Music series has sold over 120,000 CDs worldwide and forms part of their on-going project, 'The Glory of the English String Quartet', bringing this repertoire to wider audiences through concerts and recordings.

The Maggini's commitment to new music has led to many important commissions. Sir Peter Maxwell Davies has written his ten 'Naxos Quarters' for them during a unique five-year collaboration which generated enormous enthusiasm from audiences and critics alike. In 2008 the Quartet are performing new works by Ronald Corp and Roxanna Panufnik.

Alongside their busy concert schedule, the Quartet are known for their committed, enthusiastic and inspiring chamber music coaching, both in the UK and abroad. Demand is such that all their courses are consistently over-subscribed and the Magginis have the fullest coaching calendar of any ensemble in the UK.
