Businesses band together to stand tough against recession
In tough times, most businesses adopt the policy of ‘every man for himself'. But two Worcestershire businesses are bucking this trend by joining forces to help promote each other's business through the recession.
Top UK cookery school, Eckington Manor, is working with Farncombe Estate which offers a host of courses throughout the year - apart from cookery.
The partnership originally began at a corporate level - Cotswold Conference Centre, the business activity on Farncombe Estate, which caters extensively for team building and training. They don't have facilities for including cookery in the mix which was increasingly being asked for and they launched a Gastro Team Building package with Eckington.
Based on the success of the corporate venture, the two venues are now working together to offer a range of benefits when individuals book a course at both Farncombe and Eckington.
As well as a getting a discount, people also like the fact they can learn both craft and cookery skills over a weekend.
The offer also appeals to couples - one can indulge their passion for World War 1 history at Farncombe, for example, whilst the other can perfect their Thai cookery skills at Eckington Manor.
The first joint weekend is on 21st January when people will be learning how to cook Chinese style at Eckington whilst getting to grips with music or creative writing at Farncombe.
