A day of verbal free styling for experienced storytellers, writers and everyone who loves words. Stuck on a plot or script? – Spontaneous storytelling is a proven cure for writer’s block. Preparing a speech, presentation or story for performance? – Discover how to power up your speaking.
After creative games to warm up voice and imagination, you’ll explore classic training exercises for storytellers plus a range of sense stimuli from incense and sound effects to (possibly) chocolate. Whatever your usual craft or art, today we will all learn from each other. You’ll be involved in telling all or part of a story.
Traditional storytelling preserves community history and identity. Modern storytelling is emerging as a lively and enjoyable performance art, finding its way into festivals, theatres and even boardrooms. Today’s workshop aims to inspire your imagination, extend your skills and provide creative refreshment.
