Art in Action 15 - 18 July 2010

Art in Action 2010

Inspired by the simple principle that people are fascinated when artists and craftsmen openly demonstrate their skills and discuss their work, Art in Action was born.

In 1977, 51 artists and musicians took part and 14,000 visitors arrived.  Today Art in Action welcomes approximately 24,000 people over four days to Waterperry Park, Oxfordshire. Visitors come to learn, buy and enjoy, the exhibitions, classes and performances of 400 demonstrating artists, designer makers, teachers, musicians and performers. Disciplines include painting, sculpture, glass, woodwork, textiles, ceramics, metalwork and jewellery.

Farncombe Estate are delighted to be taking part in Art in Action 2010.  A few of our tutors will be running a number of Practical Classes as part of the workshop programme.   You will also have the chance to meet other tutors that are taking part alongside Nature in Art.

Practical classes :

With over 3000 places and 38-subjects to choose from the Practical Classes are your chance to have a go!   You can purchase your tickets for the Practical Classes online from Tuesday 6th of April.

Workshops with Farncombe tutors

Remember, tickets are also available to purchase at the event, from the Practical Classes Ticket Tent. Tickets are available, on a first come first serve basis, from 10:30am onwards and can only be purchased on the day of the class.

The Practical Classes Teachers are all artists or art teachers. They have a joint exhibition (map tbc) and most of the works are for sale. It's a wonderful opportunity to see a wide variety of art created to a very high standard.
